so another aid would be if i sent or posted the funds in an account (like say a paypal account for the photographer to wait (?) and see if i can fullfill in the next 4 months (12/09 thru 3/10) then he (you) would be able to release the image to me if i don't fullfill balance then i would simply let you know and close out account (that of course means you too cann't spend it untill the balance is covered). I know, I know, this is a lot of stuff to simply purchase some art but what's a poor boy to do; i mean come say Feb; that $225 may look good for some other personal emergency; with my life..that is not to hard to be true. That is some brilliant writing; but when I was listening to this material on the LP I failed to grasp the pure poetry of his style; Oh, i caught a glimmer which is why he stays on my play list with this album and "Expressions" which i found a bit more accessible to my feeble mindedness; Yes, I am saying that Mr Perkins is brilliant--i sort of compare him to Miles Davis, in that he requires some learned listening to fully grasp and appreciate his delivery and content; speaking of delivery he reminds me of the Last Poets in both voice and style, but more abstract and intellectual overall; of equal parts political and ethnocentric; I will probably download from my EMusic.com account this album "Holy Smokes" if only on the merits of his previous work. In fact, I am probably bringing all his music back into my current playlist, esp., for headphone listening ; I grasp him better both stereophonic and literally via headphones than on my home speakers; some how his lyrical content is immediately intimate and discernable for me; Perhaps that’s then nature of a true crooner, it’s in your ear or not at all.

I think i realize that i spend most of my days in and at a work enviorment thus i attempt to maximize that time creatively since i realize that my home time is mainly eat, cum and sleep..more or less in that order.

    I'm not sure if this is a good life since i'm too busy essentialy running behind the creditors and other consumeristic life. I mean I do need things, like shoes, socks, records, books, art supplies, art itself..etc. etc.,

    Is need a good word..perhaps i should say i want things, as is i am also working on more and more non physiclal consumption, by that, I think I am talking about the consumption of things that don't leave a physicla object in your pocession, like travel.

    I've noticed that I only construst this blog at work though which was my original thought regarding the limits of my time.

     I was tripping the other day, on another artist site,

a black artist by the name of belasco; we sort of met and knew each other for a minute, however, the gentleman is way famous for his art work unlike myself. And deserving? his fame is for him since his work is really incrediable and queer. I admire the pencil work he does of black guys a bit more than his character sketches; but there is no doubt his cartoons are erotic. I myself have actually jacked off to them on more than one occassion.

    anyway, i pulled some links from his site that i should share as I found them to be really informative links..in an art to artist sence.

                 Africa Boy

                .....he says it is the site of a free boy from africa; his drawings are great, I only hoped to draw as many and as well the beauty of black men; the thing i liked most is the variedness of his models and styles, excellent work and a true inspiration for me; in fact, i went back into another site and pulled a bunch of pictures of black guys just to throw more blacks into my flickr.com site.

    This effort didn't go too far since the site i used had a number of guys whom all seemed to be the same kind of guy; the 6 pack abs, the big arms, and tightly groomed hair; some after awhile didn't even look black if not for there skin color, since they all had the fairly straight nose, full mouths but not that large, and sharp chins. I was surprised to see so many black guys who all looked so similar.

I don't know why I don't draw more african male features; I suppose I'm way too snowed out in my life, and since being in san francisco these many years, I become way too polycultured in what i look at with regards to men; I mean, I do draw a awfull lot of asian, mexican, and or latin american men as well as dark europeans;

    I suppose if i lived in africa, then blacknuss would be a bit more my primary focus? Or if I had been raised in predomanately black communities; but that is not the case for me; a product of amerika integration efforts since the 50's; seems i've always been around them other folks.

oh yeah, links...

speaking of non black specific art..but yes, still male..

I like the collection.  It also inspired me with regards to my lines in pencil;

He studied architecture but was always interested in painting, and was a pupil of the artist Manuel Rodríguez Lozano, who guided him along the path to his real vocation as an artist. He did not give an individual exhibition until 1951, although he was featured in several collective exhibitions together with such eminent artists as Siqueiros and Diego Rivera. His meticulous technique in "trompe-l'oeil" style, achieved by applying oil paints to a dry surface, was praised by his colleagues and critics of the day, who unanimously compred his verism with the brushwork, to that of the great Renaissance masters such as Dürer and Boticelli. As Ann Pellegrini has pointed out,
Lacanian concepts of subjectivity are inadequate for application to the racially
oppressed, for any 'positive' self-image of blackness secured in early identifications
with parental models contrasts sharply and automatically with 'the
distortion-effects of racism and the white gaze'.5 Both racism and racialisation
(the process of being raced from without) constitute a system of cultural power
having profound effects on subjectivity. The self-portraitist must work through
this system of signification before she/he can get to that essential, yet ultimately
elusive, T. Racialisation produces the black subject as incomplete, continually in
process of becoming and as a locus of ambiguous and constantly shifting
meaning. The racialised subject becomes 'trapped' within the condition of
disunity, continually split into pieces, shattered, identified from without, within
the contexts of modernity and colonialism. This experience provides the basis
upon which to consider the act of self-portraiture as a potentially therapeutic
necessity for bonding the public racial self with the private inner self (if indeed
such a self exists).  *Smalls, James(2001)'African-American self-portraiture',Third Text,15:54,47 — 62

(5 Ann Pellegrini,
Performance Anxieties:
Staging Psychoanalysis,
Staging Race, Routledge,
New York, 1997, p 81.)

i lept to the above, because in essence, much of my figurative work is just that, an attempt to find myself, outside of the confines of this "system of signification" in either context, homosexual, or black 'american' male. To appropriate some'ting()

 Reading Melvin Dixon's Vanishing Rooms: Experiencing "the ordinary rope that can change in a second to a lynches’’ noose or a rescue line" Vivian M. The culprit of the carnage is the radical Neo-Nazi liberation theology known as La Raza, which calls for the extermination of all races in America besides Latinos, and is being bankrolled by some of the biggest Globalists in the U.S.

A story carried on the liberal website Alternet, charts an explosion in brutal murders of blacks by Hispanic street gangs in L.A. Far from being gang on gang violence, the Latinos are targeting innocent blacks in accordance with a concerted ethnic cleansing campaign that seeks to eradicate all blacks from Hispanic neighborhoods.

In one instance, 21-year-old Anthony Prudhomme was shot in the face with a .25-caliber semi-automatic while lying on a futon inside his apartment, slain by a Latino gang known as the Avenues as part of a racist terror campaign in which gang members earn "stripes" for each black person they kill.

In one typical case," writes journalist Brentin Mock, "Three members of the Pomona 12 attacked an African-American teenager, Kareem Williams, in his front yard in 2002. When his uncle, Roy Williams, ran to help his nephew, gang member Richard Diaz told him, "Niggers have no business living in Pomona because this is 12th Street territory." According to witnesses, Diaz then told the other gang members, "Pull out the gun! Shoot the niggers! Shoot the niggers!"

The fatwah against blacks began in the mid-nineties, with a 1995 LAPD report concluding that Latinos had vowed to "Eradicate black citizens from the gang neighborhood." In a follow up report on the situation in east Los Angeles, the LAPD warned that "Local gangs will attack any black person that comes into the city."

The author notes that since 1990 the African-American population of Los Angeles has halved, partly as a result of rampant illegal immigration and that there are noticeably fewer blacks walking the streets because many have been forced to relocate in fear of the racist gangs.

"The LAPD estimates there are now 22,000 Latino gang members in the city of Los Angeles alone. That's not only more than all the Crips and the Bloods; it's more than all black, Asian, and white gang members combined. Almost all of those Latino gang members in L.A. -- let alone those in other California cities -- are loyal to the Mexican Mafia. Most have been thoroughly indoctrinated with the Mexican Mafia's violent racism during stints in prison, where most gangs are racially based," writes Mock.

Mock blames the "Mexican Mafia" for ordering the campaign of ethnic cleansing from prison, as part of a turf war with the Black Guerilla family, another prison gang, but fails to pinpoint the racist creed from which the Mexican kingpins draw their inspiration - the long standing Aztlan invasion agenda.

Aztlan's goal, known as La reconquista, is to cede and take over the entirety of the southern and western states by any means necessary and impose a Communist militant dictatorship. President Bush's blanket amnesty program goes a long way to helping the extremists achieve their aim.

Despite the fact that the majority of documented hispanics oppose illegal immigration, as do the majority of Americans, Aztlan and La Raza race hate groups have become the self-appointed voice for a separatist movement that threatens a violent overthrow of the Constitutional system and a barbaric program of ethnic cleansing. This is held up by the media as 'diversity' and to vociferously oppose it is scorned as racism.

Aztlan and Mecha groups advocate killing all whites and blacks and driving them out of the southern states by means of brutal ethnic cleansing. Flags and placards carried at marches depict white people having their heads cut off, as seen in the picture below.

Those that protest such groups are then attacked by the establishment media and labeled as racists, despite the fact that the Plan of San Diego, a rallying cry for the hispanic Klan groups, advocates total eradication of any race but hispanics.

Mecha's own slogan reads, "For the race everything. For those outside the race, nothing."

TV stations owned by rich white industrialists erect giant billboards in Los Angeles claiming the city belongs to Mexico, as seen below.

Mainstream hispanics who love America abhor the virulent racism that the Mexican klan groups embrace.

And who bankrolls these pocket radicals? Billionaire tax-exempt foundations and NGO's owned by white men. Organizations like the Ford Foundation, groups who are zealous in their quest to eliminate the middle class and destroy America, turning it into a cashless society, compact city, surveillance control grid where only two tiers of society exist - the elite and the poor slaves.

During the May immigration protests, The Aztlanwebsite carried the following statement.

"If the racist "Sensenbrenner Legislation" passes the US Senate, there is no doubt that a massive civil disobedience movement will emerge. Eventually labor union power can merge with the immigrant civil rights and "Immigrant Sanctuary" movements to enable us to either form a new political party or to do heavy duty reforming of the existing Democratic Party. The next and final steps would follow and that is to elect our own governors of all the states within Aztlan."

Here is the open call for violent separatism and the overthrow of existing state government structures.

During the immigration demonstrations, which were orchestrated by Rob Allyn of Rob Allyn & Co. who is closely tied with George W. The city had logged 73 homicides before Wednesday's meeting, and there have been four more since then.

Although most of the murders have been concentrated in East Oakland since the Nutcracker arrests, angry West Oakland residents said they are dodging bullets and that it's a miracle more people haven't died.

"I've been at Highland (Hospital) every day for seven days this week," said an angry Ikeiya Johnson. "Four or five different people I know got shot."

Oakland police and city officials had scheduled the meeting and tried to follow an agenda. Alleged leaders and foot soldiers in the Hispanic gang Florencia 13, also called F13, are being arraigned this week on charges stemming from a pair of federal indictments that allege that the gang kept a tight grip on its turf by shooting members of a rival gang—and sometimes random black civilians. The "most disturbing aspect" of the federal charges was that "innocent citizens … ended up being shot simply because of the color of their skin," U.S. Attorney Thomas O'Brien told reporters in announcing the indictments.

No one is sure what started the war between F13 and the black gang known as the East Coast Crips in the Florence-Firestone area of unincorporated L.A. County. Simple neighborhood demographic shifts played a role, as formerly black areas have become majority-Latino. The two gangs are also rivals in the lucrative drug trade. Much of the F13 indictments lay out a conspiracy alleging that gang members controlled drug houses where they sold large amounts of cocaine, crack and methamphetamine. Some say the killings began after the Crips pulled a large drug heist against F13 several years ago. Whatever the causes, L.A. Sheriff's Department statistics chart the war's violent toll: 80 gang-related shootings in the past three years, including 20 murders.

The federal charges name 61 alleged F13 members in two indictments. The gang-violence charges came in a 53-count RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) indictment against 24 alleged gang leaders, charging them in a conspiracy to sell drugs, possess weapons illegally, and assault and kill black gang members and civilians. In the second indictment prosecutors charged the rest of the men on federal drug-distribution charges. More than 40 of the defendants pleaded not guilty at arraignments Tuesday, according to prosecutors. Michael Khouri, an attorney for Luis Aguilar, 35, says his client left the gang "several years ago" and served recently as a gang negotiator. "Mr. Aguilar will plead not guilty, and he is not guilty," says Khouri. Fifteen of the accused remain fugitives.

The indictments provide a telling snapshot of the changing nature of gangs in south L.A. According to federal prosecutors, F13 has grown into a tightly controlled gang of 2,000 members in 30 cliques led by convicts and parolees who are members of the prison-based Mexican mafia. It's a far cry from the '80s, when the black drug gangs, including the Crips and the Bloods, predominated, mining the crack epidemic with ruthless efficiency. Compared with looser Latino gangs that were seen as turf-conscious fighters, the black gangs were organized and disciplined. "The stereotype was that [the black gangs] were all about the [drug] business," says gang researcher Cheryl Maxson, an associate professor of criminology at University of California, Irvine. With the black gangs, "there was a millionaire in every neighborhood" perched at the top of the crack distribution pyramid, adds gang expert Alex Alonso, who edits streetgangs.com.

Now it's the Latino drug gangs that seem tighter and more highly controlled. "The Hispanic gangs like F13 were incredibly regulated, from the street level to the leadership in the prisons," says Olivia Rosales, a hard-core gangs prosecutor for the L.A. district attorney's office who prosecuted F13 and Crips homicide cases for two years. She now heads one of the DA's satellite offices. "The East Coast Crips weren't as organized."

Top-down organization in F13 aided the assaults on black gangsters. The federal indictments charge that Mexican mafia leaders "make sure that all the F13 cliques were participating in the assaults of African-American rival gang members." But the assaults went beyond rival gangs; they "target[ed] African-American individuals for assault," according to the indictment. Gang leaders even allegedly instructed foot soldiers in how to hunt blacks in the most efficient manner, the feds maintain. A wiretap cited in the RICO indictment reveals that one gang leader allegedly told an underling that "when he went looking for African-Americans to shoot, only a driver and a shooter were needed."

The targeting of blacks by the Latino F13 appears to be an anomaly; experts say the majority of gang violence still involves a gang member and a victim of the same race. "On average, the violence just isn't race-based," says UC Irvine criminologist George Tita. "Our studies show there's no pattern of black-brown crime." Between 2000 and 2006 black offenders in south Los Angeles were more than seven times more likely to kill black victims, according to a study recently published by Tita and colleagues; Hispanic killers targeted fellow Hispanics twice as often.

But clearly race was a motivating factor for the F13 gang. In one case in the indictment, two Florencia gang members came upon a black couple on Florence Boulevard in September 2005. One shouted "F— Cheese Toast" (a derogatory name for the East Coast Crips) and ordered the other to shoot the pair. (The feds say the couple weren't affiliated with any gang.) Instead they stole the woman's purse, Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter Hernandez, the case's lead prosecutor, tells NEWSWEEK. An unnamed black victim at a bus stop the month before hadn't been so lucky, Hernandez says. F13 members shot him "three or four times, but he survived."

The F13 indictment marks the third high-profile Latino gang charged with attacking blacks in the past two years. Last year federal prosecutors won life sentences against four members of the Latino Avenues gang for civil rights violations of blacks they had murdered simply for moving into the gang's Highland Park turf. State prosecutors say the Latino 204th Street gang targeted African-Americans not affiliated with gangs, writing graffiti such as "187 N———" (187 is shorthand for "kill"; it's the California penal code section number for homicide). Two 204th Street members face an upcoming trial on state murder charges for the slaying of 14-year-old Cheryl Green, a black teen killed on the street last December.

placeAd2(commercialNode,'bigbox',false,'')   <A TARGET="_new" HREF="http://ad.doubleclick.net/click%3Bh=v8/3713/3/0/%2a/u%3B205723723%3B2-0%3B0%3B28363761%3B4307-300/250%3B27048058/27065915/1%3B%3B%7Eokv%3D%3Bdir%3Dnews%3Bdir%3Dnation%3Bad%3Dbb%3Bsz%3D300x250%3Bdel%3Djs%3Bajax%3Dn%3Btile%3D3%3Bheavy%3Dn%3BpageId%3Dnewsweek-id-61950-page-2%3Bpoe%3Dno%3B%7Eaopt%3D0/ff/1900ff/ff%3B%7Efdr%3D205749710%3B0-0%3B0%3B17548017%3B4307-300/250%3B27398608/27416487/1%3B%3B%7Eokv%3D%3Bdir%3Dnews%3Bdir%3Dnation%3Bad%3Dbb%3Bsz%3D300x250%3Bdel%3Djs%3Bajax%3Dn%3Btile%3D3%3Bheavy%3Dn%3BpageId%3Dnewsweek-id-61950-page-2%3Bpoe%3Dno%3B%7Eaopt%3D6/1/ff/1%3B%7Esscs%3D%3fhttp://my.barackobama.com/page/content/seml?source=SEM-lb-newsweek"><IMG SRC="http://m1.2mdn.net/1476593/big-newopen-300x250.jpg" alt="Vote for Barack Obama" BORDER=0></A>

For all the evidence of race-based targeting of victims, federal prosecutors haven't filed civil rights charges against F13 members, though Hernandez says the idea remains under investigation in the ongoing case. (Hernandez explains that the charges are difficult to prove and wouldn't increase prison time for those convicted of the other charges, anyway.) But law enforcement officials say the F13 members—and the Crips—frequently targeted victims based on race. "The way it came out was that any young black man could be the target of [F13] and any young Hispanic man was the target of the [black gang]," says Rosales. "All they see is race."

L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca tells NEWSWEEK that early wiretaps in the case recorded phone calls in which a senior F13 member ordered a young gang "soldier" to kill a particular East Coast Crip. But when "the soldier called back to say he couldn't find the [Crip], the gang leader told him to shoot any black," Baca says. "I disagree that it wasn't a hate crime." In response to the gang war, Baca flooded the Florence-Firestone neighborhood with deputies in 2005, after the area had suffered 41 murders. Feeling a strong commitment to area, which is rich in the history and culture of a working-class African American populace, she sought to preserve and honor the voices, stories, and images of 20 of its residents who had lived in the neighborhood for 20 years or longer.

The project culminated in several forms. Oakland photographer Jonathan Eubanks—well-known for his documentation of The Black Panther Party as well as other social movements from Oakland’s history—photographed the seniors for an exhibition at the African American Museum and Library. Video producer Ian Dawkins-Moore created a 60-minute documentary using footage from the library’s collection, and juxtaposing West Oakland’s past with overlays from the 20 interviews. The project was delayed somewhat by the need to raise additional funds to complete the video.

Adisa’s process began with an extensive canvassing of seniors in the neighborhood-through fliers at library branches; visits to churches, senior centers, and residential homes; and connections to home-bound seniors through Meals-on-Wheels. Once her subjects were identified, she held preliminary interviews with each of them (sometimes conducted by telephone) to establish a rapport and relationship; and then returned to video or audiotape an interview session. She and her collaborators encountered the unanticipated challenge that while many seniors wished to be interviewed, they did not want to be videotaped or tape recorded. Others were lonely and eager to tell their stories, but had little connection to the neighborhood. Ultimately the project featured 46 subjects.

In most instances, the seniors wanted to be interviewed in their homes and many no longer lived in West Oakland. The artists drove as far as Stockton to interview Rose Dalton, 101 years old, who was raised in West Oakland near DeFermery Park and who now lives with her granddaughter; and to Suisun to interview Marcela Ford, 90 years old, one of the co-founders of the African American Museum. Other subjects included Ananis Wills, the first black dry-cleaning company owner in Oakland; Margaret Wright, called by many “the Mayor of Myrtle Street”; dancer and choreographer Ruth Beckford; labor historian Joe Johnson; barbers Cecil Thurston and Elmer McConnell; and sisters Mary Jones and Lillian Steward, whose father’s ministry, Beth Eden, is a landmark in the West Oakland Community.

Adisa wrote profiles of the participants—interweaving their personal stories with quotations from their interviews. As the project progressed, she came to realize that her original plan, which had been to write a biography of each subject, was too ambitious and would require many more interviews. “So instead, what I have done is to focus on certain highlights in each person’s life and identify that which distinguishes each.”

In her final report, Adisa writes of being awed by the seniors’ tenacity, wit, and zeal. She notes, “The overriding theme of the interviews was that West Oakland was an integrated community where everyone got along. It certainly was not free from racism, which seemed to rear its ugly head after World War II, but still people for the most part were allowed to be themselves, despite their race.” The project’s title, Tales of a Forgotten Glory came from an inspiring interview with Joe Johnson.

The African American Museum and Library of Oakland (AAMLO) addresses the needs of the wider Bay Area African American community and documents the achievements as well as the ordinary history of Blacks in the area. The institution was created through a public-private partnership between the Oakland Public Library and the Northern California Center for African American History and Life, which joined forces in 1994 to create AAMLO—now a division of the public library. AAMLO holds more than 300 original manuscripts, several oral histories, more than 8,000 books dealing with Africa-American history and life in California, and full and partial runs of early black weeklies—some dating from the early 1890s. It publishes exhibition catalogues, posters, calendars and a quarterly newsletter.

During the course of its collaboration with Opal Palmer Adisa, the library moved from 56th and Peralta to a new site on 14th Street in downtown Oakland. Yesterday, my boi came to visit as he usually does on a friday; he shared half of his meal with me--i mean the boi brought a burrito all the way from 30th ave east side to share wit me on 33 st west side.

    We watched two movies, like rambo 2008 (which was way to graphic for my taste wit the killing and shit..but he kept reassuring me it was just a movie, and not to take it so seriously) and untraceable side by side on the floor, almost spooning;

    He smoked me out, as he usually does on fridays when he has the weed; he even reached out and touched me and said, 'not to worry elvis is here' when i told him how much i had fiend for weed the night before..but this morning i got up to go to work and my boi had set aside a bit of weed for me to have this morning.

    he spends the night with me and always gets up wit me in the morning to talk and hang out before i have to go to work.

    He shares his last cigarettes with me;

    he wants to be in my company and share with me his thoughts and feelings about most things, people and places;

    he wants to go on adventures with me, even if that is just a trip across the bay bridge to SF.

    He like the idea of being my muse; and dosen't mind if I constantly draw him, or even ask him to pose for me (though right now, he seems mainly comfortable with me just drawing his face--we are working up to more full body poses..)

     we have become more physically affectionate cause now we touch each other a little more and with less and less reservation.

     He thinks of my needs, cause the other day I told him how i was struggling with my cummuter funds for getting to work and back; and he came up wit a BART ticket that would get me to the end of the month and a bit further. Told me in fact, when the ticket was offered to him, he snatched it up cause he knew I could use it.

   he enjoys cooking for himself and I; and when I have food in the house he is no stranger to preparing, cooking and serving the food; he is also thoughtful enough to clean up the kitchen. I have come to my place many-a-day and he had cleaned up the kitchen even though he hadn't made any of the mess.

     He enjoys my friends and engages them socially; the other night he got all the guys to play 5  hands of the bones, daminoes; quite the feat when you consider that neither randy or ryan typically play the bones;

    He is funny; and sweet;

    he is sensual and innocent;

    he is open and honest;

    he is loyal and dependent;

    a true friend; a real buddy.

    such a great boi, my moneys on him to be a great man/lover for some one in the future.

I could go on and on about elvis..

    i definitly needed to say the things that I have said above;

this little work sort of combines a couple of things on my mind these days;

my shopping cart series, and Butt Magazine..why?

well you could say i find it the men's magazine of choice for the queer male, and i have to admit it is not too bad, esp., when it come to men of color too. We are beginning to imagine how amateurs, file-sharers, and bloggers, by reshaping long-established standards of production and consumption, could fundamentally challenge existing institutional and professional authority. We are today barely seeing the first glimmerings of what a fully networked public culture might look like. Despite persistent pundit predictions of imminent doom for established content industries, or conversely, of the squelching of common culture by the iron fist of corporate power, the future of public culture seems to us very much up for grabs. We are still at the start of the trajectory of social, cultural, and technical change in the network era. Our goal in this chapter therefore is not to declare the forms of networked culture we describe as fait accompli, as inevitable forms of culture and media. Rather, we have specifically selected cases that suggest emergent and radical changes, but which are also sites of contestation very much subject to the forces of government regulation, technological engineering, and corporate maneuvering. The power of networked, viral, and laterally organized Internet groups is just one of many forces contesting these futures, but it is a newly energized player and the one we focus on in the cases of amateur music, anime fandom, viral marketing, and online news."

see also:

                     Networked Publics

               TorrentFreaks

                WarSystems

                    Wired

I don't really know; I mean, there is no YOU in my life right now, so, whom I am focusing this attention on is a mystery to myself; secondly, i think, maybe it just touched me cause it was playing in rotation on my Itunes when I got out of bed this morning. Just maybe, I am painfully lonely and the song reminds me of this fact. I think, also cause it is a very "romantic" tune and my heart yearns for some one to put into that frame. The version that I have is from the Motown remixed vol.1 Album..a good find..of course I don't quite recall where I found it; maybe it is a CD burn and i thought i found it online..oh well, still a great song.

o.k., back to TAXES,

        the thing with me and the IRS, resulted because I failed to report the tax on an annuity that I had cashed out. This of course, increased my income that tax year; and the IRS have been hounding me every since. This coupled with the fact that every tax year since; I have been unable to pay my taxes so the debt just compounds, and the IRS just keep on coming; now this debt is below 3 grand, hell I don't think it's more than 2 grand at my last check, but the IRS just keep on hounding me like i'm out to cheat them. I want to find some kind of legal way to get them off my back, but most of these legal advice services are just looking to make a fast buck off of my troubles and I don't want that additional problem nor can I afford it.

              Eric Balfour from '6 feet under' and my quick pen and ink take on the same image; I really liked his looks in the HBO series; and I have to be honest I really liked his character, though a bit shifty and shady; he is quite the eye candy; I have seen him in some other films lately but for the life of me I simply don't recall; now, trust me I really don't lust for heterosexual guys in my day to day life__i simply think this man is so damn good looking and naturally very, very sexy for anyone (straight or queer).

i mean, who can not see the sexuality let alone feel the fire this man produces; and the little booty shots are just plain sexy; i'm gonna post one more picture (all of which i found on the internet,) cause you get to see the nipples this cat is sporting..and erect nipples on a good looking man, are my weakness;

who wouldn't want some of that? Russian, French, and Native American (all i see is native)

In January, 2008, he participated in a video for Barack Obama produced by Will.I.Am called Yes We Can

Oh, o.k., i'm not talking about taxes now, so lets move on to my next'ting; Managing a Blog, esp. the comments section.

    I have only recently, like today, just realized that I'm responsible for either publishing or not publishing comments made by you the reader. duh? I mean, I really didn't realize with the Yahoo web hosting movabletype publishing platform, that I had to go in and check my comments module and decide who got published and who didn't. Well, one thing I did notice, and that 90% of my comments are just junk solictation from viagra vendors or the like. I think since I started this blog way back in 2005, I've only really received about 30 comments from actual readers. I am so sorry I did not get a chance to respond to all the earlier comments; I won't promise here, but I will be making more of an effort to look at my comments in the future.

    now, one comment left simply didn't make sense to me, and I'm not sure to what the commentor is refering:

Leave these people alone! Elvis is a pothead, but he definitly lights up my life. I simply love to be around him; now being a chicken hawk it seems sometimes I forget my better self and lust after him in parts, but i've never acted on this lust.

i had to go there..1.22.08; I can not recall a boi so kind esp., to me; and yes, he is a boi, which is the real crux of the matter--i would never violate the natural order of things between him and i; even though my experience wants to rapidly advance that nature; again this too is the crux
of the problem--the line between natural order and the push of experience; how can I tell?
out of sync, i can not paint, i can not draw, i can not think, until he is around--then we smoke a couple of phat blunts and I am simply lost;

2008 has not started off quite the postive year I had hoped;

Lets just start off with what I've been doing on the creative side;

Like this collage created by Ryan Marino (V-50379 C-7-113 CSP Sac. P.O. Box 29 Represa, CA 95671 in the event you want to write him as well) and myself; Ryan as you may be able to tell is a prisoner at the CSP Sacramento area. He is the cell mate of Freddy Thiecke (T-43962 C-7-113 CSP Sac. P.O. Box 290066 Represa, CA 95671 in the event you wish to write hime also)

Freddy is my original pen pal via the project that introduced us. We have been writing back and forth via snail mail for the last year--and I believe our relationship has long since transcended the boundarys of the project; meaning, we write to each other as friends sooner than the project itself. I know I have made a personal commitment to them both as a friend. Both of these talented young men are in prison for murder.

I met them through a project hosted at the Intersection for the Arts; the sponsor of the project is a group called BuildingBloc. I am just a volunteer within this project--as a volunteer I went through a 4 week training course on developing a pen pal relationship via creativity with a prisoner.

What or who is BuildingBloc ?

BuildingBloc is a collective of artists dedicated to using art to explore the social inequalities in our society. Through experimentation, collaboration, and performance, we inform, provoke, and inspire ourselves and our audiences. We aim to spark dialogue, to create and sustain relationships between artists and community organizations, to support existing struggles for social justice, and to erase the boundaries between art and activism.
BuildingBloc was formed in January 2003 by Jesse Olsen and Alli Spector out of a desire to deeply explore the intersection of experimental performance and social activism. In 2004, they were joined by Marko Muir and in 2005 by Qilo Matzen. BuildingBloc has performed extensively nationally and internationally, and has been in residence at Warehouse 21 in Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Bay City Arts Center in Bay City, Oregon; CESTA in Tabor, Czech Republic; The Rex in Beograd, Serbia; Rialto Sant’Ambrogio in Rome; and OpenSpace in Berlin. In addition to performing, BuildingBloc teaches workshops in the performing arts, organizes cultural events, and collaborates with schools, community organizations, and other artists and arts groups. Current and past collaborators include Critical Resistance, photographer Charles Reilly, Act Women (belgrade), and the Prison Poster Project.
Current and recent projects include a 2005 European tour incorporating performance, workshops, and presentations; performances and public discussions at Temescal Arts Center in Oakland, CA and at Counterpulse in San Francisco; “Mutual Aid Pen-Pal Project”: a collaborative project connecting artists outside of prison with artists inside prison; producing the benefit concert “Dance Down the Lock Down”; and presentation of work by artists and activists from women’s’ rights groups in Serbia.
BuildingBloc is rooted in the idea that as artists, we express the dreams, struggles, and questions of our people. As such, we place great importance on our collaborations. We seek out and develop relationships with the people and organizations in our community, and ground our creative process in their stories and ideas. We believe that this is especially important when making art about specific social issues. The true depth of the subject can only be conveyed through the voices of those directly affected. BuildingBloc serves as a conduit for these voices. At every point in our process, we hold ourselves accountable to our collaborators, and we work to give back to them as much as we receive. We consider the relationships we form to be as much works of art as the performances we create.

I just recently received a letter from them both and I know they are anxiously awaiting my response.

I promised Freddy some pierceing jewerly for them both and they both are awaiting a coffee table book that we are creating from the set I've produced of our work on flickr.com

Writing letters is (and or has proven to be) quite the exercise in reflective thinking; it has also allowed me to be personal with someone in ways wherei would not ordinairly make such an effort. I think I have been actually more honest with these two guys on my day to day feelings and events than I would be with persons more physically close. I think the condition of imprisonment also aided all of us to strive to be a bit more open and then we perhaps would have been had we just met on the street. I am amazed by their art work as well as their desire to rise above the condition of the prison and their imprisionment. Freddy often stuns me with his range of intellect given that he has spent a great deal of his youth and adult life behind bars. And they both demonstrate a sensitivity that I would not have thought so forth coming from men in prison. I am sorry that we may never meet out side of the prison institution.

Recently we have started to consider creating a small magazine. I am not sure just how far we will get in this venture but I am more than happy to take the enterprise on with them. I have hopes that we will be able produce at least a year's worth of issues, ( with my idea of being a quarterly, i guess that means at least four issues.) I know that Freddy is very excited about the idea. However I am the one wanting to take this venture slow and easy; I think because the larger expense and lay out production will fall squarely on my shoulder.

         The above works, is one of the last things I did in 2007 with the talented Ralph Bonilla, a young man from the LA area. I think I became too frustrated with the one way direction of our commnications. Well, not entirely one way, but for me, rather significantly dependent on me to keep alive and active. I won't know ralph; he has a right to his life and interest and if i didn't prove to be a main interest, well, so be it; By the time ralph started talking to me about his desires for certain white males, i decided my obcession for him was far too great to simply be that sympathetic (cyber space)ear, esp. after I had made such great overtures to him to visit up north and to expand his horizons from the white boys of LA. I think ralph is exceedingly talented. I had hoped for greater and greater collaborations with him; alas that fell short probably more to my impatience; I guess ralph helped end my interest also when he failed to return a collaborative canvas and this was only after repeated telling me he would do so. One of our last converstations involved him sending me this image of himself and asking me if i would draw it--in the image of a 70's porn star. Well this was my take on that subject matter; I am not too sure I succeeded in the venture.

I do miss him and wished he had made an effort to hold on to our association.

        Most blogs, provide a significant number of links to other blogs or internet stuff; and yes, i too have been surfing the net and find many interesting links and subject matters; but for some unexplainable reason, whenever i do compose on this blog, i just fail to include them in any sensible manner. What can I say? Preoccupied with Elvis. Elvis is a 17 year old pot head mexican; whom I met while living in East Oakland California; He use to be my next door neighbor; I have since moved to West Oakland California, and Elvis is the only consistent associate/friend that continues to visit me there. I adore him. He is also my muse. I can not get enough of simply looking at him and observing his changes. He too has become a particular set of mine on flickr.com where I am posting most of the work of him I have done to date.

8 1/2 x 11; everytime he visits, i'm thrilled, but like most simulates, the down time is unbearable; I should know better but age is not always wisdom; thus
i adore him yet keep myself at a 'mature' respectable distance--which is quite tor·tur·ous; i guess i deserve this torture since i can not bear not to be around him; when he visits--that smile, that laughter, that kindness, so distinct to him; I can not recall a boi so kind esp., to me; and yes, he is a boi, which is the real crux of the matter--i would never violate the natural order of things between him and i; even though my experience wants to rapidly advance that nature; again this too is the crux
of the problem--the line between natural order and the push of experience; how can I tell?
out of sync, i can not paint, i can not draw, i can not think, until he is around--then we smoke a couple of phat blunts and I am simply lost;
