think i'm feeling a bit out of synch..with most things and people today; i had a kwel sunday, in that my friend, took me to Point reyes for a picnic__a bit cold but fun and the ride was nice..esp., since my friend kind'a wanders when he drives.

Tule Elk Herd on Tomales Point; TOMALES POINT (2,781 acres) - This unit encompasses all of the land on Tomales Point north of a fence from Tomales Bay to the Pacific Ocean (in place to create a Tule elk reserve.) It supports grassland, mixed coyote brush scrub, and dense bush lupine stands at the northern tip of the peninsula. In 1978, tule elk were reintroduced to Tomales Point, and in 2006 herd size was approximately 430 animals.elk

It was not Mapplethorpe’s original intention to be a photographer, and from 1970 to 1974, he mainly made assemblage constructions that incorporate images of men from pornographic magazines with found objects and painting. In order to create his own images for these collages, Mapplethorpe turned to photography, initially using a Polaroid SX-70 camera. Interested in portraiture, Mapplethorpe worked as a staff photographer for Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine. He also produced album covers for Smith and the group Television, and at the same time photographed socialites and celebrities such as John Paul Getty III and Carolina Herrera.

My Dear Freddy
Identity Excesses and Evasions
chez Paul Bowles

Ned Rorem first met Paul Frederic Bowles (1910–99) in the summer of
1941. Bowles at thirty was living in Taxco, Mexico, and the seventeen-year-
old Rorem was traveling there with his father. Two years later, when Rorem
and Bowles were both living in New York, they struck up a friendship.
Rorem recounts vividly his first visit to Bowles's apartment of 1944, a small
penthouse with a “spectacular view of downtown Manhattan”: “The larger
of the two rooms was all in white, ” Rorem writes, “white sofas, a white
piano, with long white curtains moving slightly in April's first warm
breezes, and a white fur rug wall to wall. A white telephone with the num-
ber removed. ” The account continues:

Like his room at the Chelsea a year ago, this one reeked of perfume, as
indeed did Paul himself, wherever he went. He had spent the better part
of his Guggenheim fellowship on raw ambergris which he combined
with other basic essences to confect heavy oils that imbued the furni-
ture, never to disappear. A luscious cage of scent for him to hide behind.

Rorem reports further details attesting Bowles's creation of an esoteric
and, at points, dark, worldly mystique, and then writes, “All of this would
be chitchat were it not relevant to another aspect of the man which grew
clear in the next half hour, and which changed my life as [Satie's] Socrate
and [Stravinsky's] Sacre had. ” 1 Bowles played a recording of an arietta
from his zarzuela (operetta)The Wind Remains(1942). “I was bewitched
and remain bewitched after five decades, ” Rorem wrote in 1994. He con-
fesses to having appropriated then, and retained thereafter, what he per-
ceives to be Bowles's signature (albeit unconscious) musical mannerism: an
expressive “dying fall” by minor third. The same gesture was favored by
Mahler in his late-Romantic Weltschmerz, but it is used to opposite effect  ..

Drub-Punk Rock Porno Illustrator__ I've always enjoyed drawing. I started drawing when I was two. My working class parents saw something in me and fostered my love of cartoons and drawing in general. I drew a great deal as a kid, when I wasn't playing in the woods, building treeforts, pouring over maps of places I wanted to visit, and people watching.

Mandragora

"The first bit of advice I would give to anyone planning on watching Mandragora is to be prepared for its length. At 2:15 it requires some patience and focus. In addition, there are some confusing flashbacks and "flash-forwards" which make it hard to follow at times. There are also jumps forward in time which aren't that clear. For example, one scene is followed by another, it appears to be taking place an hour or so later, but it's actually closer to a month later (or so we presume). But there is no way to know. So it can be a bit frustrating following the timeline. The same can be said for locations. The characters will leave one room and enter another, but the second room is actually in another part of the city. So the sequence of events requires that you pay close attention or you can get lost in the important elements of the story. It is loaded with irony and symbolism and you will undoubtedly miss a lot of it if you have to spend your time thinking about where or when the scene is taking place.

That said, my criticism ends there. This is a moving and powerful film, as befits its gritty, down and dirty story.

The haunting score never lets up -- it is not often that there is an absence of music, and when it is there, it is extremely dark and relentless. The cinematography is also appropriately dark and the lighting is often single point with the main characters in shadow. It is shot on location in Prague and the Czech industrial underbelly, putting the viewer right into the dirty and smelly and smoky environs which these young people inhabit.

But above all else, the acting is extraordinary, particularly Miroslav Caslavka as Marek. He is supposed to be 15 and looks it at times, and although he transforms himself into a seemingly older person, his character remains 15 throughout the film.

Adults are almost always profoundly ugly and grotesque, even disgustingly comic at times, and shot in as unflattering a light as possible and framed as such. Conversely, the boys are always beautiful and softly lit and framed like works of art. Their faces are breathtaking and heartbreaking.

It is not easy to watch and will surely leave you drained. "

Sex life in LA 2: cycles of porn

anyway, back to art..i.e., how to paint..

i guess i think'n about painting, cause i recently sent a couple of works out to a couple collectors, both different from each other but similar to myself.  L. Thomas, and M. m.l. Williams; malik

the way that i paint, quick, bold wet strokes at first, progressively getting tighter or dryer brush as well as smaller and more detail..though the first strokes, the bold slabs are the ones that i like the most...the detail is really obcession..anxious desire to flatter myself..

lately, i have made my brush even wetter with the initial approach..i think i'm am modeling after three artist that i admire, although i only know the names of two..

Tony Decarlo

Franck de Las Mercedes

the third is a prominent Chinese artist, i saw a doc. on her on pbs, but i failed to note her name..now aint that a shame..but she does this fantastic wash portraits and such..

i have to go now..

what'up wit all the vanilla boys

..too many of the same..wall of indifference

i like flesh and on occassion pornography, as much --if not a bit more--as the next fellow; but lately, surfing the net gives me the creeps with the degree that most queer flesh related sites are almost exculusively all white boi(s) photo stock--boring!

MOC thank goD!, sort'a saved my mental health.. In 2004 he launched a gay adult website called Men Of Color. It's on hold. But his interest in the mainstream-ization of pornography is not. Come join him down the Yellow Brick Road.

And for the record, i welcome all constructive criticism. I actually look forward to seeing how i can improve my art/skill/vocation, so i appreciate the feedback. If you see something here that you love, wonderful. Please tell me so. If you see something that could have been improved, even better. Please tell me what you think i could have done differently.

History

The duo's first release was an EP titled Soul Clap, released in 1992, also known as Showbiz & A.G. They released their debut album, Runaway Slave, the same year. A short version of their track "Soul Clap" was included on the album, as well as past recordings such as "Fat Pockets" and "Party Groove". The posse cut "Represent" featured the first album appearance of rapper Big L. Other album guests included Black Sheep's Dres, Diamond D, Lord Finesse and Deshawn.

In 1994, Showbiz & A.G. made a guest appearance on Black Sheep's second album Non-Fiction, on the track "E.F.F.E.C.T.". Showbiz soon shortened his name to Show, changing the group name to Show & A.G. Their 1995 album, Goodfellas, featured a darker sound than their debut. Guest artists on the LP included D-Flow, Lord Finesse, DJ Premier, Roc Raida, Dres, Method Man and Diamond D. The most successful song from the album is DJ Premier's Nyte Time Remix to the track "Next Level", the instrumental was later featured in a battle scene on the movie 8 Mile. Despite critical success for both of their albums, the duo was never commercially successful.[citation needed]

Show and A.G. appeared on a number of D.I.T.C. projects within the next few years, releasing an album, Full Scale, in 1998. Selections on the album included the title track and "Drop It Heavy", which featured Big Pun and KRS-One. The song was later included on D.I.T.C.'s self-titled group album, and A.G.'s solo album. In 1999, A.G. released his solo debut, The Dirty Version, which featured guest production from Show, Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Diamond D and DJ Premier. Guest MC's included Ghetto Dwellas, Fat Joe, Diamond D, O.C., Guru, KRS-One and Big Pun.

In 2000, Show & A.G. teamed up with D.I.T.C. to release a self-titled group album. Show produced the tracks "Get Yours", "Way Of Life","Drop It Heavy" and "Weekend Nights". A.G. appeared on the songs "Thick", "Day One", "Foundation", "Drop It Heavy", "Stand Strong", "Weekend Nights" and "Tribute", a track made for Big L, who was murdered in 1999.

Show has produced for artists like Big L, Big Pun, Das EFX, Diamond D, Fat Joe, Freddie Foxxx, KRS-One, Black Sheep, Lord Finesse, M.O.P., O.C., Organized Konfusion, Sadat X and The Pharcyde.

A.G. completed his solo album for Look Records titled Get Dirty Radio, released October 31, 2006.

A.G.'s Infected Intertainment and Record Label is currently celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the release of Showbiz & AG's "Runaway Slave" LP, one of Billboard's Top Ten Underground LP's

well, my vote went with Phenology/2002..don't ask why..best i can say, i'm kind'a kooky, and that has to be one of the kookiest works by the roots..but the one that i understood the most..musicaly, and emotionaly, and politicaly; they have some good stuff in that record and it more or less seal'd the deal on my current love of questlove..u know, i'm not a big fan of the roots..some'times they seem a bit overreaching..and dull..to me..
